State of the Occupier - India: Reopens 2 Key Economic Centers

What is the current state of occupancy?

Offices in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida (the 3 comprising the National Capital Region NCR) and Bangalore have opened with less than 33% occupancy – this includes Savills offices in these locations. The national lockdown 4.0 is expected to expire on May 31. Metro cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad are located in states that have been majorly affected by the pandemic and will have a more prolonged withdrawal from lockdowns.

Occupiers are self-evaluating their operations in terms of workplace strategies, work from home concepts and general operational benchmarks.

Developers have commenced construction activity with existing onsite labour. The larger landlords are working on new standard operating procedures for building operations.
